Scottish Premiership Preview: Hibernian v Aberdeen

Shaun Maloney will be in the Hibs dugout for the first time on Wednesday evening as his new side take on Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership.

And having fallen to a 2-1 defeat to Celtic in Sunday’s League Cup final, Maloney’s first task will be to lift his side for a vitally important clash against the Dons.

Interim boss David Gray led Hibs to a draw and a much-needed victory over Dundee following the departure of Jack Ross.

And Maloney will be hoping that his squad can continue that solid run against an Aberdeen side who arrive in the capital on a decent run of form.

Aberdeen have won their last three and victory on Wednesday evening would see them move four points clear of Hibs in the table.

The bookies are finding it hard to split this pair with Hibs available at 13/8 with bet365, while Aberdeen are 7/4 at Unibet, and the draw is available at 11/5 with Betfair.

One thing that does look certain at Easter Road on Wednesday is goals though – both sides are more than capable in attack while the pair have managed just nine clean sheets across their collective 36 Scottish Premiership matches this season.

With this in mind, the Evens being offered by Betfair for both teams to get on the scoresheet looks a solid play and one I’m happy to take a chance on in what should be an entertaining clash.
