ITV has been announced as the new home for free-to-air NFL coverage in the UK. Coverage, hosted by Laura Woods, will come in the form or a weekly roundup show, plus live coverage of the 2023 Super Bowl, and two of the three games that are played in London this season.
Over the summer, plans for UK coverage on free-to-air television were up in the air, but fans have no need to worry any longer.
The Giants v Packers game from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on October 9th, plus the Jaguars v Broncos game on October 30th, will be the two games from London that are shown live.
The Super Bowl will come live from Glendale, Arizona in 2023, taking place on Sunday February 12th.
2022 saw the Los Angeles Rams take home the Vince Lombardi Trophy, with a thrilling win in the SoFi Stadium over the Cincinnati Bengals. The Rams are back looking to repeat, while there is a whole host of teams behind them looking to get their hands on one of the biggest prizes in world sport.
In recent years, thanks to involvement from the BBC, Channel 4 and Channel 5, we’ve had free-to-air NFL of some description, and this new deal with ITV will ensure that remains in place for at least the next three years.
Joining Laura Woods on the broadcast will be Osi Umenyiora and Jason Bell. The first program will air at 11:30pm on Friday September 9th, one day after the new regular season kicks off.
When the season kicks off, Freebets will be on hand to guide you through from week one until the Super Bowl in February 2022. With game previews, bet builders and weekly accas, we have every angle covered across the various game days, and this will all be available in our NFL tips section on the site.
