Tottenham injury update

During their loss to Chelsea, Tottenham lost Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie to suspension.

To compound their woes, the Lilywhites saw James Maddison and Micky van de Ven forced off due to injury.

However, on the Maddison front, Ange Postecoglou sounded upbeat after the Chelsea game, hinting that the England international was taken off as a precautionary measure more than anything after Cristian Romero’s red card despite a knock to his ankle:

“He got a knock on the ankle,” Postecoglou told BBC Sport. “We were down one man already. It made sense to make a couple of changes at that point.”

Seconds after Maddison went off injured, though, Micky van de Ven pulled up with what appeared to be a hamstring injury and could not walk off the pitch without help. On the centre-back, Postecoglou said:

“It’s too early but looking at Micky you’re thinking it’s a pretty significant one so you’d assume he’ll be out for a little while,” stated the Spurs boss.

With three of Tottenham’s four main defenders out of action this week, the north London outfit will likely be relying on outscoring Wolves to pick up the win. Back their top scorer, Heung-min Son, to net anytime on Saturday at 13/8 with bet365.
