Jarrod Bowen reveals World Cup motivation
Ahead of the game, Jarrod Bowen has been speaking to the media about his previous England disappointment.
The West Ham forward, who made his breakthrough at international level last June with four appearances, missed out narrowly on the World Cup squad.
But after being given a second chance by Gareth Southgate for the two matches against Australia and Italy, Bowen is determined to make it count and hold on until next summer for Euro 2024.
On missing out on the WC squad, Bowen said: “I think you can use missing out almost as fire in your belly. I think I was using it almost like that from when I came back for West Ham after the World Cup,” said Bowen.
“I saw my levels starting to rise from the back end of last season. With disappointment, you can use it rather than be down about it and sit and sulk about it or do something about it. I think with me and the player I am I always want to do something about it.”
