Mohamed Salah injury update

Before facing Chelsea, Jurgen Klopp has provided a Mohamed Salah injury update.

Salah returned to Merseyside to undergo rehabilitation on a hamstring injury after the group stages of the AFCON, with it suggested he could return for the final should Egypt make it there.

However, Egypt are now out of the competition, meaning focus has shifted back to when Salah will be fit for the Reds.

Speaking pre-Chelsea, though, Klopp confirmed Salah will be out for at least their next two games: “There was no pressure in it besides the fact that you want to get fit as quickly as possible anyway. But we cannot rush. If we could rush the healing process, believe me, Thiago wouldn’t have been out for 10 months and all the other guys, they will be fit.

“It is not possible. You just do what you can do, and while you are doing that, we from the outside have to wait until they are ready. Mo is not ready for this game, not ready for the next game, and then not. He’s injured. I’m not sure if there was a misunderstanding at the beginning.

“He’s injured and muscle injuries take time. It could have been much worse but he is not available in the moment, he is just doing his rehab.”
