Liverpool injury update

It was not all good news for Liverpool this past weekend, though, as they have several injury issues to deal with.

Speaking post-match, Jurgen Klopp confirmed Trent Alexander-Arnold has suffered a recurrence of his knee injury after the Liverpool defender was withdrawn at half-time vs Burnley:

“His knee again? Yes, it felt like that,” Klopp said of Alexander-Arnold. “He got it stuck in the grass and we will see. We have [to send for] assessment. At half time we had to take Trent off and that’s a double problem if you want. One is that Trent is off and the other is we had no other right-backs available.”

The German then provided updates on Alisson, Ryan Gravenberch and Joe Gomez: “Besides the Trent situation it is perfect. Ali (Alisson) is out with, well, I don’t know, it was Joey with the flu and Ryan, before the game, felt something there.

“They told me he is fine but you cannot bring a player in who felt something when warming up so we had to act quickly and hopefully a lot of the boys will be back before the next game because we need them obviously.”
