Karim Benzema asks to leave Al-Ittihad
Reports linking Benzema to Arsenal emerged last week and now, the player is seemingly aiming to force a move away from Saudi Arabia this month.
According to French outlet AFP, Benzema feels under pressure at the Saudi club and wants a temporary move. Al-Ittihad offered to loan the player to another team in the Saudi Pro League but Benzema was not interested.
This is good news for any potential European suitors such as Arsenal or Chelsea.
AFP add that Benzema has held a ‘bad-tempered’ meeting with Al-Ittihad, where he laid out his desire to leave.
