Kempton hosts a bumper nine-race card on Wednesday evening under the floodlights, with the 6:30pm race being the feature contest.

A competitive evening of racing looks on the agenda with some top jockeys on show, including William Buick, James Doyle, Oisin Murphy, and Hollie Doyle, all booked to ride.

The going at Kempton is Standard to Slow, and there is the chance of some showers, and the first race is due off at 4:17pm.

Barrier arrives here with just four career starts to date and having not been seen since running 2nd on handicap debut at Goodwood in June.

The first, third, and fourth in that race have all subsequently won, and there is every possibility Barrier has more to offer.

William Buick is an eye-catching booking in the saddle, and it appears a big run is expected.

Safe Passage has been off the track for 511 days but has been given a chance by the handicapper, running here from a mark of just 50.

She’s yet to win, but her two best career runs have come at Kempton, including when going down by the narrowest of margins over this trip in April last year.

The hope is Ross Coakley can get her in a nice rhythm and hopefully run a big race in what’s a weak-looking contest.
