Arsenal team news

Here is the latest Arsenal injury news before their meeting with West Ham.

Bukayo Saka started the aforementioned game against Liverpool. He played 80 minutes before being taken off after a collision with Darwin Nunez that happened after an hour but he should be fine for this weekend:

“He should be fine, “ Mikel Arteta said. “He got a kick on the ankle or the back of his foot, he should be fine.”

Jurrien Timber is stepping up his work and he is now involved in ball training. There has been a growing sense of optimism around the player that he will play again before the season is over.

Oleksandr Zinchenko was replaced by Jakub Kiwior at half time against Liverpool with Arteta revealing he felt his calf. The Ukrainian has had several small injury problems this season and his status for West Ham is currently unknown.

Finally, Gabriel Jesus missed the game against Liverpool after Arteta revealed he had been playing with fluid in his knee against Nottingham Forest.

Arteta said: “With Gabi we expect it to be something that is days. Unfortunately, he had a setback in training and he wasn’t fit to play.

“It’s something related to his knee, but I think it’s a short-term thing. The return [against Forest] might’ve been a bit too fast for him.”
