Chelsea injury news

Here is all the latest Chelsea team news ahead of their next outing.

Reece James continues to struggle with injury problems and underwent hamstring surgery back in December.

In his latest update, Mauricio Pochettino said of James: “It is always tough for a player with a very complicated, difficult season for him.

“Now is the process to start to recover. One day less until he is part of the group and we are going to take it in a positive way because the most important thing is to start to solve the problem and of course, help him to be strong, being positive.”

Levi Colwill suffered an injury during the warm-up before the goalless draw with Aston Villa in the FA Cup last month.

He then missed the defeat to Wolves. Pochettino said last week: “I don’t believe [he has a chance of being in the squad vs Wolves]. Today [Friday] he didn’t train. We will see tomorrow. At the moment, we will see the evolution.”

Finally, Robert Sanchez is working his way back up to full fitness following a knee problem and has avoided the need for surgery. No return date is currently set.
