Remy joins Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane who has also been welcomed back by coach Didier Deschamps for the games against Australia and Finland. 20-year-old Varane is making his comeback to the French squad after returning from a five-month absence with a knee injury to feature in Real’s Champions League win over FC Copenhagen on 2 October.
Remy has earned a call up following an explosive start to the season at St James Park. The Newcastle striker has scored five goals in his last three games and will join team mate Yohan Cabaye as part of the four-man contingent representing the Premier League club along with Mathieu Debuchy and Moussa Sissoko.

France look assured of reaching the playoffs and will be looking for a convincing victory on the off-chance that group leaders Spain trip up in their two remaining qualifying games. Finland are third in the group on nine points but cannot catch either of the nations above who are clear with 14 points each.
The Finns must wait another four years for the chance to qualify for their first World Cup but will hope to bow out on a high note by avenging the 1-0 defeat to France in Helsinki just over a year ago.
