Liverpool dealt Robertson blow
Ahead of facing Everton, Liverpool have been dealt a major blow on the injury front.
Andy Robertson was forced off before half-time during Scotland’s clash with Spain on Thursday evening as his side then went on to fall to a 2-0 defeat. Robertson had his arm in a makeshift sling after he was replaced, having stayed down in pain following Spanish goalkeeper Unai Simon landing awkwardly on him.
Scotland take on France in a friendly on Tuesday night, but boss Steve Clarke has confirmed that Robertson will play no part in that and will instead return to his club to be assessed:
“Andy has hurt his shoulder,” Clarke said after the match in Spain. “He will go back to his club now.”
No further details are given on the injury but it does not look good for the left-back. Kostas Tsimikas will likely deputise for Liverpool in Robertson’s absence.
