Manchester City blow: Gareth Southgate confirms Kyle Walker injury

Manchester City have been dealt a blow on the injury front ahead of their huge Premier League clash vs Arsenal on March 31.

The Sky Blues are one point off league leaders Arsenal and 2nd-place Liverpool going into the weekend but are 17/20 favourites with bet365 to beat the Gunners at the Etihad.

Kyle Walker injury blow

Unfortunately for Manchester City, they may have lost a key player to injury before their meeting with Mikel Arteta’s side.

Kyle Walker was subbed off just 20 minutes into England’s friendly against Brazil on Saturday due to a suspected hamstring problem.

Speaking to Channel 4 after the match, Gareth Southate said on Walker: “We don’t know yet. He is feeling something but he is not a player who is injured very often so he’s not quite certain what it is. So it is something we have to assess in the coming days.”

England are back in action on Tuesday vs Belgium and Walker is not expected to play any part as his injury is assessed.

The Three Lions can make do without the 33-year-old for the friendly, but Man City not having Walker to face off with Gabriel Martinelli or Leandro Trossard could hand them a major disadvantage vs the north Londoners.
