England play out their final Euro 2024 qualifier on Monday evening, away to North Macedonia.
The Three Lions have already topped their group and qualified for Euro 2024, meaning they have nothing left to play for. However, Gareth Southgate will no doubt be keen to end the qualifying campaign on a high. Back England to win 3-0 at 11/2 with bet365.
Rico Lewis set for England debut?
Rico Lewis could make his England debut at left-back on Monday night against North Macedonia after Kieran Trippier’s withdrawal from the squad.
Gareth Southgate is already without Luke Shaw, Ben Chilwell and Levi Colwill, while Kieran Trippier, who filled in at left back in the second half against Malta on Friday night, withdrew for personal reasons.
This means despite being just 18 years of age, Lewis could start on the left for England on Monday evening. The City man, meanwhile, has been discussing how his versatility could help him secure a spot at Euro 2024:
“Obviously, in terms of a tournament, you can only select the amount you can select,” he said.
“It (versatility) can be a key factor in going or not going. But for me, I am not really focusing on that right now but I understand it is a key thing that could contribute to me being picked or not.
“Obviously he (Southgate) has asked me about where I want to play, my favourite position, stuff like that.”
