Manchester United injury latest: Victor Lindelof, Mason Mount & Casemiro

Manchester United play host to Bayern Munich on Tuesday in a must-win Champions League game. Bayern are top of Group A and have nothing to play for in their final fixture, while United are bottom of the table.

As a result, Erik ten Hag’s men must beat Bayern at Old Trafford and hope that FC Copenhagen draw with Galatasaray - any other results will see them eliminated from the Champions League, while a Copenhagen win and United win would but the Red Devils into the Europa League. Man United are 8/5 with bet365 to secure the three points this week.

Manchester United injury news

Here is the latest Manchester United injury news ahead of their hectic festive schedule.

Erik ten Hag confirmed before the defeat to Bournemouth that Victor Lindelof would miss out having picked up an injury in the first half of United’s win over Chelsea.

The exact nature of the injury has not been specified, but the United boss did not rule the centre-back out of making a return against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.

A calf injury has kept Mason Mount out for a month but he is back in training, and was tipped to potentially return at the weekend. That did not come to pass but the England midfielder is expected to return to the squad soon.

Casemiro has been absent since picking up a hamstring issue in the League Cup on November 1. The Brazilian has stepped up his recovery, however, with a return to light individual training on the grass at Carrington this week. His initial comeback date was set for around Christmas and he appears to be on track for that.
