While most of the recent transfer talk involving Manchester United has been centred around Alexis Sanchez, there’s another superstar reportedly keen on returning to Old Trafford.

Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils have been busy trying to secure a deal for Chile international Sanchez, in a bid to bolster their chances of silverware success this season.

But a former club legend has reportedly outlined his intentions of making the switch back to Man Utd, after becoming tired of stuttering contract negotiations at his present employers.

According to AS in Spain, Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo is now fed up of unfulfilled promises at the Bernabeu and he has finally had enough.

Ronaldo is also believed to have told certain teammates within the Madrid camp that he wants out, with a Premier League return to Manchester United being his desired outcome of the situation.

The Portugal international captain has somewhat struggled this current term under Zinedine Zidane, along with the entire Real squad, as they sit well off the pace in La Liga.

Barcelona boasted a comfortable 19-point lead over their El Clasico rivals after matchweek 20 on Spanish soil, with Ronaldo and co currently battling for a top four position.

With Zidane coming under increasing pressure and Ronaldo being widely criticised for being ‘past his best’ this term, there could well be a shake-up in the coming months.

Reports suggest that this could therefore lead to a sensational return to Man Utd for the now 32-year-old fan favourite Ronaldo.
