Manchester United Could Sign Two Arsenal Stars In January
Manchester United could provide a double blow to Arsenal’s Champions League hopes by signing BOTH Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil this month.
The Gunners’ star pair are out of contract in the summer and can negotiate pre-contract agreements with clubs now, but United boss Jose Mourinho is keen to pay and wrap deals up now.
It had been reported widely this week that United were interested in going up against neighbours Manchester City for Sanchez. Pep Guardiola believed he had the player in his grasp, having worked with him at Barcelona, but Mourinho could put a spanner in the works.
The Portuguese coach has a working relationship with Özil, too, after signing him for Real Madrid in 2010. While both players are closing in on their 30th birthdays, they are world class and would certainly improve United’s chances of winning the Premier League title next season.
With City boasting a 15-point gap between the sides ahead of games against Liverpool and Stoke respectively, winning it this year may be a push even with these two reinforcements.
