Lukaku, who joined Manchester United from Everton to link up with Jose Mourinho says he looked up to another of the Portuguese’s former strikers.
“When I was little, Adriano was my great idol. Because when I was little, I had the same qualities as him.
“Very strong, shooting with the left was the same. I hope he’s going to play again because he’s a good player. For me he’s an idol. I like him a lot.”
Now 35, Adriano has had issues with his weight and motivation, leaving Inter under a cloud to return to his homeland in 2009. Another shot spell in Italy with Rom failed to ignite his career, and he has not played at the top level since he left Atletico Paranaense in 2014.
