Manchester United Target Ligue 1 Defender This Summer

Manchester United have contacted Monaco fullback Djibril Sidibe about a possible summer move to Old Trafford.

Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho is planning major surgery on his squad this summer, and refreshing his defensive options is high on his list of priorities.

United finished second this season, winning the FA Cup, but the record distance of 19 points to Manchester City, who won the Premier League title, mean Mourinho is still under real pressure in the North West.

Sidibe was heavily linked with a move away from Monaco last season, after helping them win Ligue 1 and reach the Champions League semi final in 2016-17.

Atlético Madrid are said to keen on Sidibe, too, but he may prefer to test himself in the Premier League next season.
