Mario Balotelli 'Congratulates' Paul Pogba On France Win Over Italy

Italy striker Mario Balotelli took to Twitter to congratulate Paul Pogba after his France side won 3-1 in an international friendly on Friday night.

Goals from Antoine Griezmann, Samuel Umtiti and Ousmane Dembele were enough to cancel out Leonardo Bonucci’s for the Azzurri at the Allianz Riviera.

France now face the USA before jetting off the the World Cup, while Italy, who missed out on the tournament in Russia, face the Netherlands.

While Pogba was booed and substituted after a poor performance, Balotelli still took to social media to congratulate the Manchester United man, though he did it in his own way.

Balotelli has successfully rebuilt his career in Ligue 1 with Nice, but is looking for a new club this summer and is available on a free transfer. A return to Serie A seems most likely, but some Premier League clubs have also been linked.

His great form has been rewarded by an international recall after Roberto Mancini, who brought him to Manchester City in the summer of 2011, replaced Gian Piero Ventura some weeks ago.
