Mikel Arteta confirms Arsenal transfer plans for end of window

Arsenal travelled to Nottingham Forest for a Premier League clash on Tuesday evening and picked up a 2-1 win.

The Gunners remain behind Liverpool in the table despite the win and are 17/2 with bet365 to go on and win the Premier League this term.

Arsenal to win the Premier League

Mikel Areta on Arsenal transfers

Mikel Arteta held his pre-Nottingham Forest press conference recently and when speaking to the media discussed the Gunners’ squad depth and January transfers.

Arteta claims Arsenal have a very thin squad, especially in certain areas, but also that the north Londoners were unable to do any transfer business this month:

“We have one of the thinnest squads in the League, that’s for sure,” said the Spaniard. “And when you talk about the numbers, especially in certain areas, we are really thin.

“It wasn’t possible [to do any January deals]. And now we didn’t have the capacity to improve the team in the way that we think we want to improve it, so we decided not to do something yet.”

If Arsenal are to go on and win the Premier League this season, they will surely need to pick up three points this weekend when they take on Liverpool.
