Declan Rice injury update

After netting five vs Crystal Palace, Arsenal matched a personal record. Saturday’s win was Arsenal’s joint-biggest margin of victory in a Premier League London derby, alongside their 5-0 win against Wimbledon back in April 1998.

However, it was not all good news for the north Londoners over the weekend as star man Declan Rice was taken off after 73 minutes with an injury.

Speaking after the Palace hammering, Mikel Arteta provided an update on the Englishman:

“No, he was feeling some tightness,” Arteta said. “I don’t know what muscle it was. But when he says that at 3-0 then obviously we don’t want to take any risks.

“The same with big Gabi. He had some discomfort from a tackle in the first half and he was struggling a bit so it was the right moment to take him off the field.”
