Mikel Arteta provides updates on Bukayo Saka & Gabriel Martinelli

It was not all good news for Arsenal on Monday though, as Bukayo Saka was replaced by Fabio Vieira at the break before Gabriel Martinelli was forced off just after the hour mark.

The duo have been crucial to Arsenal’s superb form in 2024 and losing them to injury would be a major blow in their title hopes.

However, in a boost for Arsenal fans, Mikel Arteta moved to play down any serious injury concerns after the match:

“Bukayo was feeling sick,” he told Sky Sports. “He wasn’t feeling right so we decided to take him off and bring Fabio [Vieira] in.”

Of Martinelli, Arteta added: “With Gabi, it’s just a cut. He had a tackle and a slight cut, we have to see how he is.”
