Newcastle face a trip down south on Sunday to take on West Ham in a Premier League meeting at the London Stadium.
The Magpies sit a point below West Ham in the table after seven games but they have had a much tougher start to the season, already facing Manchester City, Liverpool, Brighton, Aston Villa and Brentford.
Despite the challenging start to the campaign, Newcastle have the second-best attack in the PL and joint-third-best defence. Back Newcastle to beat the Hammers at 11/10 with bet365.
Key players to miss out for Newcastle
Before taking on David Moyes’ West Ham, Eddie Howe spoke to the media on Friday. When doing so, he provided an injury update on his squad.
The update is not great news for Newcastle as Howe confirmed Harvey Barnes is a long-term absentee, Anthony Gordon is suspended, Sven Botman is not fit and both Callum Wilson and Joelinto are touch and go to face West Ham:
“The injury list doesn’t look great but apart from Harvey there’s nothing long-term.” Howe said on Friday. “We’ll see how Callum and Joelinton are. They’re the closest two. Anthony is suspended which is a big blow for us. Sven won’t make it.”
As Callum Wilson is a doubt for the trip to the London Stadium, Alexander Isak will likely lead the line for Newcastle. The Swede is the North East outfit’s top scorer this campaign with five and is 6/4 to score anytime with bet365.
