Callum Wilson injury update

After the game, it was revealed that Newcastle have suffered a fresh injury blow.

Newcastle physios sprinted onto the field at the final whistle to attend to Callum Wilson, who has just come back from a calf injury.

Eddie Howe said on Wilson post-match: “It’s a slight concern for us after the game. His shoulder is fine but he looks like there is a problem with one of the muscles in his arm. We’re hopeful it is not serious but at this moment we don’t know.”

Elsewhere, Jacob Murphy went down with a problem before the match had even kicked off at the City Ground.

Howe told the media after the game: “It doesn’t go away. Jacob Murphy was unusable for us today, he didn’t feel great in the warm-up. He had a tight calf.

“We are still getting challenges left, right and centre. But at this moment we are managing to come through those. Today was a massive result for us.”
