Newmarket Tips - Saturday, October 7

It’s Sun Chariot Day at Newmarket on Saturday, and the Group 1 contest is the feature race on their seven-race card.

A high-class field will head to post for the race, with Aidan O’Brien and Joseph O’Brien sending over runners and the Andre Fabre-trained Mqse De Sevigne travelling over from France.

The going on the Rowley Mile is Good (Good to Firm in places), with sunny spells forecasted, and the opening race on Saturday is at 1:30pm.

A daughter of Frankel, Decoration won on her third career start when taking victory at Windsor in July, with the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th that day all winning since.

She then placed 2nd behind the progressive Zarga over the same course and distance on handicap debut before heading to Goodwood for a Class 2 contest, where she reared up leaving the stalls, unseating jockey David Egan.

Ryan Moore is an eye-catching jockey booking on Saturday, and with the potential for plenty of improvement to come, Decoration looks a solid bet in a wide-open-looking race.

O G Beachwear has been frustrating in a couple of her runs so far, but she got off the mark last time out when winning a four-runner race at Catterick.

The horse that finished 2nd that day has since come out and won, which makes this opening handicap mark of 75 for O G Beachwear potentially look a bit lenient.

Throw into the mix jockey Connor Plana claiming 3lbs, and the 12/1 with 4 places on offer with Coral looks like an attractive bet.
