The former Barcelona star has been without a club since leaving Fluminense in 2015, but had been searching for a club until his brother and agent, Roberto Assis, made the announcement.

Having won the World Cup with Brazil and inspired the Blaugrana to two LaLiga titles and a Champions League crown, Ronaldinho won the World Player of the Year award in 2004 and 2005, as well as the Ballon d’Or.

But he goes down as a legend mainly because of the enjoyment he brought to the game of football, also taking in spells at Gremio, PSG, AC Milan, Atletico Mineiro, Queretaro and Flamengo.

Neymar said: “Thank you for footballl, we will always remember your joy on the pitch. This will be your legacy!”
