Eight teams remain as we begin the Divisional round of the NFL playoffs.
Saturday night sees two games on the card, and we have picked out a double across them both, which pays out 5/1.
Here are our selections for the night’s action.
- Cincinnati Bengals money line (v Titans)
- Green Bay Packers -7 handicap (v 49ers)
Bengals to beat Titans
The Cincinnati Bengals really impressed last week and go up against the Tennessee Titans on Saturday night in the first game of the playoffs.
With the Titans looking like being the weakest top seed in a while, Derrick Henry not yet fit, and Joe Burrow’s ability to beat any defensive unit, we think the Bengals can shock the Titans here.
The Titans have had an additional week to get Derrick Henry back to fitness, and he will play on Saturday, though it is unclear what they will get from him.
Having said that, their defensive group seems to have the most troubles ahead. Joe Burrow was once again excellent last week, and with plenty of weapons to throw at, he is more than capable of having another big day.
If the game becomes a tight, low scoring affair, the Titans have a chance. However, we think the game will turn into a bit of a shootout, and if it does, the underdogs have a great chance here, so it’s the Bengals for us to cause an upset in game one.
Packers -7 handicap line
Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers arrive as Super Bowl favourites, and to be fair to them, they completely deserve it. The Packers have been strong, and it is their good defensive play that has been the real key to their success.
Yes, Rodgers is a superstar, as is main target Devante Adams, but they have far less to do now that they have done over the past couple of years, because the defence is playing much better.
The 49ers shocked the Cowboys last weekend, but picked up a couple of injuries along the way, and face a defensive unit playing better here.
With that, we fancy the Packers to not only win, but to win this one fairly comfortably.
