NFL Playoffs: AFC Championship Bengals at Chiefs Betting Preview

It’s Championship weekend in the NFL and first up on Sunday night, we have the AFC Championship game featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Bengals shocked number one seed, the Tennessee Titans to get this far, while the Chiefs won what will go down as being one of the best games for many years, when they won in overtime against the Buffalo Bills.

Here is a look at three betting tips for the big game.

Bengals to score over 24 points

If this game goes as planned, there should be plenty of scoring opportunities for both teams to take. The betting for the Chiefs to score points is not as appealing as this line, or the combined line between both teams.

If there is a team to go ahead, it will likely be Kansas City, which means Joe Burrow and the Bengals will have to chase the game and take risks. Burrow was sacked nine times by the Titans last weekend, he won’t face that kind of pressure here, and can get some points on the board.

This is a very strong offensive group, and while they may not win the game, the can certainly get points on the board.

Jerick McKinnon Anytime TD

Although not a huge part of the Kansas offence usually, McKinnon certainly was used a lot last week, and the same looks set for this weekend. The Chiefs tried to protect the ball more in a bid to keep Josh Allen off the field, and if they get into a lead like we think they will, they are going to persist with the run game even more.

McKinnon offers something dynamic from the backfield, with the ability to catch a pass or run with the ball, and that can give him good opportunities to score.

We like McKinnon to be involved a lot here, and are backing him to score a touchdown anytime in the game.

Chiefs to Win by 7-12 Points

In terms of the game itself, the Kansas City Chiefs are likely to have a little too much for the Cincinnati Bengals, and for that reason, we are backing the Chiefs to win.

In terms of a margin to boost the odds, we are going for 7-12 points, as we feel they will manage the game well, and keep ahead of the Bengals.

It would be no surprise at all to see a high scoring game, but Patrick Mahomes has the ability to keep ahead of Joe Burrow, just like was saw last weekend when Mahomes pulled out a win over Josh Allen.

The Chiefs 7-12 for us to round off the picks for this game.
