NHL: 11/1 Thursday Acca - January 13, 2022

The NHL continues and on Thursday night, we have 11 games on the schedule to look forward to.

We have picked out bets in four of them to create our Thursday NHL acca, which pays 11/1!

  • Carolina Hurricanes -1.5 (v Columbus)
  • Nashville Predators -1.5 (v Buffalo)
  • St Louis Blues -1.5 (v Seattle)
  • New York Rangers money line (@ San Jose)

Carolina Hurricanes -1.5 (v Columbus)

The Hurricanes lead the Eastern Division and have won eight of their last 10 games. While on the face of it, Columbus are doing fine this season, currently in 5th with an almost even record, away from home has not been as good.

The Blue Jackets have won 11 at home, but just five away, which gives another edge to Carolina here, alongside them having far more firepower than their opponents.

We like Carolina here, and think this could be a comfortable night for them, covering the handicap line in the process.

Nashville Predators -1.5 (Buffalo)

Nashville are another team we really like on the handicap line tonight, and they come here with a five game winning streak, including one over Colorado on Tuesday night.

The Preds lead the Central Division, with wins in eight of their last 10 games. While there are questions about whether they can maintain that, it is clear to see that the Predators are playing very well right now, and offer a tough task for those going into Nashville.

Buffalo started the season well, but that has faded away recently, as expected, and the team is now heading towards the bottom of the standings. They’ve won just two of their last ten, and only four of 16 on the road so far this season, and we can’t see that changing in Nashville on Thursday.

St Louis Blues -1.5 (v Seattle)

The Seattle Kraken continue to struggle in their first NHL season, and on top of that, this is a back to back game for them, so they played last night. They were beaten too, losing 5-2 to the Dallas Stars, meaning they have lost their last four, and nine of the last 10 games.

The Blues have won their last two, seven of their last 10 and perhaps most importantly of all, they’ve not played since Sunday night, while the Kraken have played twice since then, both on the road, and now visit their third different city since Monday.

The Blues are the better team here, but on top of that, all of the game circumstances help them out compared to how Seattle arrive, and for that reason, we see this as being a comfortable night for St Louis.

New York Rangers Money Line (@ San Jose)

Our final pick in the acca is the only money line pick on the bet and here we like the New York Rangers to defeat the San Jose Sharks.

The Rangers have not been at their best recently, winning five of their last 10, but they have been suffering from Covid, with some key players missing, including star forward Artemi Panarin. He’s now back, the Rangers appear to be relatively healthy again, and we fancy them to kick on from where they are, starting tonight.

The Sharks come here on the back of three wins, but have started 2022 with an easy schedule, those wins have come against Detroit, Philadelphia and Buffalo, three of the lower ranked teams in the league.

The Rangers provide a completely different test, we think that will be too much, and on the money line, we like the Rangers to take the two points here.
