Norwich v Sheffield United Match Preview
Norwich City will be desperate for the transfer window close.
It’s been a gruelling summer for the Canaries in terms of outgoings, with star midfielder Gabriel Sara leaving for Galatasaray, wide man Jonny Rowe refusing to play on the day of the Oxford game, having travelled with the squad the day before, and now Abu Kamara has handed in a transfer request!
Suffice to say, it hasn’t been smooth sailing at Carrow Road, where new majority shareholder Mark Attanasio, sporting director Ben Knapper and new head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup are all getting to grips with their new roles.
City’s saving grace, however, is the creativity of Marcelino Núñez in midfield, the flair of Borja Sainz out wide and the selfless energy of Josh Sargent in attack, which was crucial to ensuring they got their first point of the season on the board on week two, in a 2-2 draw with Blackburn.
For visitors Sheffield United, meanwhile, it’s all about the dream duo of Gus Hamer and Callum O’Hare, who have a real bromance between them, immediately rekindling the exquisite, one-touch link-up play they enjoyed at Coventry after the latter joined on a free.
O’Hare is a nifty ball-carrier with fine close control, while Hamer brings bags of energy, stunning vision, and an eye for the spectacular.
With that in mind, we could see an entertaining encounter in Norfolk.
