Odds slashed on Erik ten Hag to be sacked after Manchester United Champions League exit

Manchester United faced off with Bayern Munich in a must-win Champions League tie on Tuesday evening.

However, when all was said and done, Man United lost 1-0 and are now completely out of Europe this season after coming 4th in their CL group.

This is the latest in a long line of disappointments United have suffered this term and it has seen Erik ten Hag’s odds slashed to 13/8 with Betfair to be the next Premier League manager sacked.

Erik ten Hag on Bayern loss

Tuesday’s defeat means Manchester United are out of the League Cup and Champions League already this term, while they are also outside of the Champions League places in the Premier League.

When explaining why his side lost to Bayern Munich, Erik ten Hag looked to pin the blame on his squad’s fitness issues:

“I would say it is a simple today we have to make subs and we are losing players and players who are very decisive for our game, who can make the difference,” he said.

“And in many games it was also the case in this campaign, we had not always the players available we want to play. That’s definitely a part.

“Now I give you a reason but don’t see it as an excuse because even when we are not all on board, we still have to win for because they are targets that belong to Manchester United.”
