Odds slashed on Manchester City lifting FA Cup

Manchester City beat Newcastle 2-0 in an FA Cup quarter-final clash this past weekend to book their spot in the semi-finals vs Chelsea.

After the draw, Betfair’s odds have been slashed on Manchester City winning the FA Cup. The current holders were 10/11 to lift the trophy before the draw but are now 4/6.

Manchester City’s semi-final opponents Chelsea are 6/1 to pick up a first trophy under Mauricio Pochettino this May.

Elsewhere, the other semi-finalists, Manchester United, are 9/4 to go all the way, with Coventry 25/1 outsiders to win the cup.

Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: “Odds have been slashed to 4/6 from 10/11 on Man City lifting a third FA Cup under Pep Guardiola following the semi-final draw on Sunday.

“Man United are the 9/4 second favourites to lift the trophy ahead of a meeting with 25/1 outsiders Coventry, while Chelsea are 6/1 to lift their first trophy under Mauricio Pochettino, having been 11/2 before beating Leicester in the quarter-finals.”

Given how the semi-final draw played out, an all Manchester final looks to be on the cards for a second season in a row.
