Manchester City play host to Swiss outfit Young Boys in a Champions League Group G tie on Tuesday.
The Sky Blues are top of their group after winning three from three and are heavy favourites to make it four from four this week. Back City to beat Young Boys 3-0 at 5/1 with bet365.
Erling Haaland latest
If Manchester City beat Young Boys on Tuesday, they will secure their spot in the knockout rounds of the Champions League, as the Swiss team are currently 3rd in the division with just one point compared to Man City’s nine.
And while Man City are expected to qualify for the last-16 at some point anyway, Pep Guardiola is eager to ensure his side do so on Tuesday:
“It would be a big moment,” insisted Guardiola. “So important. More than you can imagine,” stressed the boss. “Because we park the car until February and we can focus especially on the Premier League and the other ones. So it’s really, really important, yes.
“We have to close it on Tuesday, definitely. Champions League we are one game away from qualifying automatically. “Where we come from it’s really good. For the club, it means still we are consistent.”
Pep also provided an update on Erling Haaland who went off injured at half-time vs Bournemouth at the weekend, much to the dismay of every FPL player who triple-captained him.
When discussing Haaland, Pep suggested he may miss out vs Young Boys: “Twist in the ankle, we didn’t want to take risks with him, he didn’t feel comfortable,” he said. “He’ll be back maybe Tuesday but maybe next Sunday. I didn’t speak with the doctors yet but we will see in the next days how it develops.”
With Haaland a doubt, Julian Alvarez is likely to lead the line for City on Tuesday. Back the Argentine to score anytime vs Young Boys at 21/20 with bet365.
