Manchester City team news

Here is the latest Manchester City team news ahead of their meeting with FC Copenhagen, as per Pep Guardiola.

Speaking about his squad’s fitness ahead of the game, Pep said: “The selection depends on how people recover from the last game and how they feel. That’s all.

“We take a selection tomorrow morning and the competition is so important to be focused because in football everything can happen. They have to be aware of that and do a good performance to qualify.

“With the way Copenhagen defend and making different systems, Champions League is Champions League and we have to try to again be in the best eight sides in Europe.”

In the same interview, Pep Guardiola praised Erling Haaland’s character for slotting seamlessly into the Manchester City dressing room: “It was so quick. Since the first pre-season on tour, he has done it. It has happened because the guys embrace the new ones really well but the new ones have to do the step.

“He was always smiling and it was so easy. He has impressed the most off the pitch with his lovely character. The bigger stars are more humble normally, they understand better. Maybe that is why they are the biggest stars.”
