Philippe Coutinho has replied to a message from Steven Gerrard following his move from Liverpool to Barcelona by wishing he and his family well for the future.
GRAB THIS GREAT CORAL OFFER
The Brazilian playmaker joined the Blaugrana in a stunning £142million deal this month, leaving Merseyside after five years at Anfield.
Signed by Brendan Rodgers in January 2013, Coutinho grew into one of the most fearsome playmakers in Europe. Gerrard, who left Liverpool for LA Galaxy in 2015 before retiring a year later, paid tribute to him on Instagram.
Coutinho then replied with an equally emotive post.
Attention has turned to who will replace Coutinho, with current boss Jurgen Klopp supposedly trying to lure Naby Keita to the club six months before he is due to join. Virgil van Dijk has already signed in a £75million deal from Southampton to bolster the defence.
As for Coutinho, it is unlikely he will play for his new club this month as he continues his recovery from a thigh problem.
