Premier League Darts Week 4 Preview

Premier League Darts – Week 4

Premier League Darts heads to Exeter this Thursday with eight stars back in action.

Don’t panic!

After a week’s hiatus in the Darts Premier League, the stars of the oche are back this Thursday in Exeter.

It’s a Welsh 1-2 at the top of the standings as Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price lead the pack at this early stages, but will there be a shake-up this week?

Let’s take a look at the picks for week 4:

Jonny Clayton to beat Michael van Gerwen at 4/5 with bet365

These two have shared wins over the past four meetings, but it’s Jonny Clayton who is showing the better consistency at the oche.

The “Ferret” tops the Premier League standings after finishing winner and runner-up in two of the three events so far.

Van Gerwen is beginning to find his magic again but Clayton looks a nightmare opponent for him in Exeter.

Michael Smith v Joe Cullen Over 6.5 180s at 5/6 with bet365

You can’t often guarantee much with these two young guns, except maximums.

Both Smith and Cullen know where the T20 bed is and in a match that could go all the way, backing a meaty number of 180s looks to hold real value.

We’re looking at north of 6.5 180s here at a lovely price a smidge under Evens.

Gerwyn Price to beat Peter Wright 6-5 at 9/2 with Paddy Power

Gerwyn Price came out on top against Peter Wright this past weekend in the International Darts Open and we’re once again siding with the Welshman this Thursday.

Price won 8-4 on Sunday night meaning that it’s 6-6 in the last 12 meetings between the two world champions.

Granted, there’s an element of us tossing a coin in picking a winner here, but Price seems to be throwing more ‘clutch’ darts at present; his two 9-darters in Week 3 of the Premier League shouldn’t be forgotten.

James Wade v Gary Anderson score after 4 legs = 3-1 at 13/5 with bet365

James Wade can be horrible to play against and we’re backing the “Machine” to get up and running quickly in Exeter.

Wade has won three of the last four against Anderson and could quite easily push home this advantage on Thursday.

Anderson has won just one of his four Premier League matches so far this campaign.
