A competitive field assembles for the BetVictor Conditions Stakes at 5.00pm at Kempton on Monday when 11 runners compete for the final fast track ticket to next month’s All Weather Champions Finals Day.
The winner will book a place for the £1million raceday and Lucy Wadham’s Noble Silk looks worth a bet after finishing second in a similar event at Lingfield earlier this month. The five-year-old gelding was having his first run since August when beaten half-a-length by Litigant over two miles and should go close at a double figure price in the Kempton qualifier.
Noble Silk has won three times up to a mile-and-a-half and showed the two mile trip is not beyond him when staying on well for the runner up spot in the Lingfied race where the winner had the benefit of a couple of outings over the winter and some decent form in France.
It was a pleasing return to action, finishing ahead of three of today’s rivals and Wadham will be hopeful Noble Silk can defy his 1lb rise to gain a slot on Finals Day at the second time of asking. Clowance Estate, Sir Graham Wade and Glenard are unknown quantities on the all weather but could be dangerous if bringing their best turf form and for that reason the advice is to back Noble Silk each way at 12/1 with William Hill.
