The Listed Ladbrokes Royal Windsor Stakes represents an easier assignement for Shifting Power who was third on his return to action in the Group 2 bet365 Mile at Sandown and is a worthy market leader at odds of 11/10 at Coral (money back if beaten a head or less) with that run under his belt.
The Compton Place colt has always been held in high regard by Richard Hannon and found only Kingman too good in the Irish 2000 Guineas having previously finished fourth in the British classic last season. The horse then backed that form up when going close in the Prix Jean Prat at Chantilly before putting in a rare below par run at Goodwood where he traveled a little awkwardly at the undulating venue.
Complicit would rate as the main danger to the selection and is fit from a pair of decent runs on the All-Weather, while Clon Brulee is respected and may be able to build on a good fourth in a Group 3 at Newmarket at the end of last season.
Elsewhere in the field, Intransigent may remain effective under a penalty and was showing signs of a return to form when third in similar event at Leicester last month and Baltic Knight was perhaps a little better than the bare form suggests when fifth in a hot race last time, so could come into the equation with blinkers fitted, though still has to turn the tables on Shifting Power on that running and the mount of Richard Hughes is preferred.
