Rasmus Hojlund breaks Cristiano Ronaldo record

Manchester United went 2-0 up vs Wolves inside 22 minutes with Rasmus Hojlund setting up Marcus Rashford’s opener before scoring the second himself.

Rasmus Hojlund has now both scored and assisted in each of his last two Premier League appearances - at the age of 20 years and 362 days, he is the youngest Manchester United player to achieve this, with Cristiano Ronaldo the previous youngest, aged 21 in 2007.

It was not all plain sailing for Manchester United on Thursday, though, as they blew their lead twice, including in the 95th minute when Wolves made it 3-3.

Following the match, Hojlund was asked what went through his mind after Neto equalised for Wolves. In response, the United striker gave an X-rated answer and could not hide his emotions:

“There, I am thinking, I know I’m not allowed to swear but I’m thinking, ‘Oh s***’,” Hojlund told TNT Sports, when asked about Neto’s goal.

“It’s a great goal, but we need to sort those situations out better and I was fuming on the bench.”
