Real Madrid - One New Galactico Or Two?

Although Real Madrid’s pursuit of Kylian Mbappe can be considered one of the worst kept secrets in football, it does look as if the Spanish giants will eventually get their man once the transfer window reopens.

With Mbappe’s contract at PSG now coming to an end, he is free to talk with any other European clubs who want his services and when it comes to who is at the front of the queue, you do not have to look much further than Real Madrid.

With Los Blancos travelling to Athletic Bilbao this evening (Thursday), progress in this season’s Copa Del Rey is by no means a certainty and this is reflected in their pre-match price of 29/20 with Betfair to win in 90 minutes.

However, their pursuit of this season’s LaLiga looks to be a lot more assured and with Carlo Ancelotti once again working his wonders at the Santiago Bernabeu, he is now aiming to build foundations for future years.

Foundations that came in the shape of European football’s very best and although there is the assumption that PSG’s striking starlet will eventually pull on the famous white of Real Madrid, his potential new employers are not prepared to stop there either. 

Because it is reported that Erling Haaland is also firmly in their summer sights and with the Norwegian destroyer of defences currently being shopped around by super-agent Mino Raiola, a switch from Borussia Dortmund is not outside the realm of possibility.

Especially as no transfer fee would be required to land the 23-year-old Mbappe and therefore, those funds can be placed in the direction of a player who is also being targeted by Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

Just like how City are favourites to win the Premier League, they are also favourites to eventually land the signature of Haaland and with father Alf-Inge also playing in their famous light blue colours, it is believed his influence will help get a deal over the line. 

However, a switch to the Premier League is by no means a certainty and with Mino Raiola, being very much a man who is concerned about the transfer fee first and the destination second, a dream forward duo of Mbappe and Haaland could end up being a reality in just a few months.
