Roberto De Zerbi quizzed on Brighton signings after Wolves stalemate

Brighton faced off with Wolves in the final Premier League clash of matchweek 22 on Monday evening and were held to a 0-0 draw by Gary O’Neil’s side.

The result leaves Brighton 7th in the table, well off the pace of the top-four but only three points away from the Europa League places.

The Seagulls are next in action on Saturday when they take on Sheffield United in the FA Cup. Back Brighton to win at 4/7 with bet365.

Brighton transfer update

Brighton have now won just one of their last five Premier League ties and the dip in form has led to some fans calling for the club to recruit in January.

However, speaking to the media post-Wolves, Roberto De Zerbi was coy on any potential incomings this month, stating it was his job to focus on the player:

“I am disappointed by the result, I think we deserved to win. But Wolves are a very good team with good players, especially in attack, we have a big respect for them,” he stated.

“We deserved to win, we played a good game and made one, two mistakes in the first half where we could score. I think we played very well.

“We have to adapt depending on the players. Without Mitoma or Enciso or Fati or Adingra or March we can’t play with wingers and we have to change the tactical position on the pitch. We have to find a different solution.

“The transfer market is not my business, my business is to organise my players. I think we played well. [On signings], you’ll have to ask the club.

“We have the target to be in the top 10. I think we are doing very well, I think we are happy.”
