The first half will quickly fall into oblivion, offering nothing but a couple of long-range shots by Bruno Fernandes and Ruben Neves. The second half was a completely different story. Cristiano Ronaldo made football history in the 65th minute, becoming the first player to score a goal at five different World Cups, showcasing his form and skills to potential new teams.

Andre Ayew scored the equalizer for Ghana seven minutes after that, but Portuguese wingers Felix Joao and Rafael Leao found the back of the net very quickly. Selecao now tops Group H with three points, followed by Uruguay and South Korea who have one point each. The next match for Fernando Santos’ fleet is scheduled for Monday.

CR7′s chances to win the FIFA World Cup Golden Boot have increased drastically

At the start of the tournament, CR7 was at 20/1 odds to win the Golden Boot. That price melted to 10/1 now after scoring the penalty and leading Portugal to a narrow 3-2 victory. We are not feeling optimistic about his chances to end the group stages with three goals or more.

A goal in the opener has seen Ronaldo's odds shorten

Both Uruguay and South Korea demonstrated great discipline in their back lines, placing a lot of focus on defending. Other main candidates for the Top Goalscorer award right now are Richarlison, Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud. Of course, anything is possible in the knock-out phase. If Portugal wins the group, they will most likely face Switzerland or Serbia in the Round of 16.

It is still very early to make those predictions though. Interestingly, Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi are both at 10/1 odds right now, even though their teams had a completely different start.

Which team is going to sign Cristiano in January?

At the moment of publishing this article, Chelsea FC have the best chance to be Ronaldo’s new home judging by the latest odds. The Blues are currently at 4/1 to sign the Portuguese super-star, followed by Newcastle (5/1), Sporting Lisbon (6/1), Any MLS Team (11/2), Real Madrid (10/1) and PSG (12/1).

There was a statement in 2018 when Cristiano stated that he would love to end his career in Sporting Lisbon, a team where everything started for him. One thing is certain regarding CR7 – his second spell at Old Trafford ended in the worst way possible.
