Following Alex Ferguson’s decision to leave Wayne Rooney out of the Manchester United side at Everton on Saturday speculation has increased over the prospects of Rooney leaving the premiership club .
With more rumours that foreign clubs may be preparing to bid for Rooney, William Hill have cut their odds for him to leave Manchester United before the start of next season from 7/1 to 5/1. ‘We offered 7/1 for Rooney to go after Sir Alex left him out against Everton, but with stories that he may be the transfer target of high profile sides, we’ve seen support for him to go and had to cut our odds to 5/1’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
William Hill are one of the UK’s largest bookmakers and offer odds on many high profile sporting and entertainment markets as well as horse racing and football which are their main drivers of turnover .
Despite all the speculation Man Utd fans will be pleased to know that Rooney is 1/9 still to be at United on the first day of next season .
William Hill offer Manchester United at 5/2 to win the Premiership this season and 8/1 to win the Champions League which gets underway tomorrow with the first batch of Group games in which United entertain Rangers at Old Trafford .
Rooney is expected to be back in the Man Utd team for tomorrows game .
