Ruben Dias sends message to Manchester City doubters

Manchester City beat Brentford 3-1 on Monday to move level on points with Arsenal and two behind leaders Liverpool in the Premier League.

Pep Guardiola’s side also have a game in hand on Liverpool and can temporarily go top of the table if they beat Everton in Saturday’s early Premier League kick-off. Back City to beat the Toffees at 2/11 with bet365.

Ruben Dias message to Manchester City doubters

Ahead of potentially going top of the Premier League this weekend, Ruben Dias says Manchester City are ready to disappoint their doubters again as they push for another historic season.

So far, City have perhaps not been at their best in 2023/24 but they are still in the FA Cup, Champions League and firmly in the title picture.

They have also been without Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland for large periods but with the duo back fit, Man City are expected to be back to their best over the coming months.

On people doubting Man City can match their achievements from last season, Ruben Dias said: “People love to talk and the more you win, the more successful you are as a team and an individual, the more people want to take you down. We take it.

“Please make noise around us because it will just make it bigger every time we win again. That’s purely how I take it. There has been a noise before and people love the scenario of us not making it but we love doing it. We are in a very difficult place precisely because we did the Treble last season. It makes it most difficult to keep those levels up and I am not talking about a Treble, I’m talking about winning trophies again.

“After a season like we had it is very easy for you to relax, it is very easy for you to feel like you’ve accomplished something and obviously we have accomplished something very big and special to all of us, to the club and to the fans. But we know that the biggest thing we can do is, when we are on the pitch, be blind to it and just keep on doing it.”
