Scottish Cup Preview: Hibs v Cove Rangers

The 4th round of the Scottish Cup gets underway this evening, with League One leader’s Cove Rangers travelling to the capital to take on Premiership side Hibs.

And Cove will fancy their chances of pulling off a shock result at Easter Road on the back of nine straight wins for the Wee Rangers.

Hibs head into this on the back of a 2-0 league loss to Celtic on Monday evening, but the Hibees enjoy cup football, reaching the final of the League Cup in December and reaching the final of this tournament last season.

Cove are a top price of 10/1 at Betfair to win this evening, and that’s bound to attract some punters, but it’s a big step up from facing League One opposition to taking on an established Hibs side who are just 1/4 with 888sport.

The visitors could well get on the scoresheet this evening, though, especially with the strike partnership of Rory McAllister and Mitch Megginson, who have been tearing it up on League One this season, bagging 23 goals between them so far.

A Hibs win with both teams getting on the scoresheet is 17/10 at Betfair, and that’s a price I’m more than happy to have a go at.
