Scottish Premier League: Hibernian v Hearts Team News
Hibernian boss Colin Calderwood gets his first taste of an Edinburgh derby on Sunday hoping for a victory over Hearts to get his managerial career off the ground.
Online bookmakers are offering free bets to new customers ahead of the televised Scottish Premier League clash between Hibernians and Hearts at Easter Road.
The former Newcastle United assistant takes charge of his first home game following back to back away defeats at Aberdeen and Dundee United in desperate need of a win to escape second bottom place in the league.
Hearts are faring better than their city rivals lying sixth in the table but neither club can be happy with this season’s progress where they share the aim of a top three finish.
While Calderwood will hope a derby victory will help him win support of the fans, Hibs have a tendency to come off second best in what normally prove to be tight games decided by the odd goal.
In the last seven clashes at Easter Road, Hearts have dominated with three wins to Hibs one and Calderwood faces a tough task to turn the form around with his team in freefall.
The away side are available at odds of 13/8 with Betfred and they stand out with the 11/1 odds on offer for Hearts to win 2-1.
Hibernian striker Colin Nish and defender David Wotherspoon missed the 1-0 defeat at Dundee United last week, Wotherspoon looks set to return but there is a doubt that Nish’s ankle injury will recover in time.
Claderwood will also be missing Graham Stack (back), Darryl Duffy (metatarsal) and Merouane Zemmama (knee).
Hearts boss Jim Jeffries is expecting Suso Santana to be fit for the game after missing two days training and he has no new injury concerns after last week’s 3-0 defeat at home to Kilmarnock.
Andrew Driver (thigh), David Obua (groin) and Lee Wallace (knee) remain sidelined with their injuries.
