The Scottish Premiership awakes from its winter break this evening with 2nd placed Celtic welcoming Hibs to Celtic Park.
These two clashed before Christmas in the League Cup Final that saw Celtic prevail 2-1, but Hibs have a new manager in place now with the ex-Celtic player Shaun Maloney in charge.
Hibs have won both their matches under Maloney – defeating Aberdeen 1-0 and thrashing Dundee United 3-1.
And having matched Celtic for long spells in the League Cup Final, the Hibees will be hopeful of taking something from tonight’s trip to Glasgow.
However, Hibs haven’t won at Celtic Park since 2010 and Celtic have won five of the last six home league matches against the Edinburgh side.
Celtic corners have proved fruitful for us in recent weeks and there’s no reason to abandon them this evening.
The Hoops have racked up 10, 13, and 14 corners in their last three home league matches and hit 10 against Hibs in the cup final.
Over 7.5 home corners this evening is Evens at Betfair, and that looks like a tasty price to get involved at.
It’s likely to be a Celtic victory this evening but it would be no shock to see Hibs get on the scoresheet – Hibs found the back of the net in their last five games before the winter break and breached the Rangers defence at Ibrox in October.
Celtic also conceded in three of their four matches before the winter break and still have defensive issues.
A Celtic win coupled with both teams scoring is 9/5 at Betfair and that’s a price I’m happy to get involved at.
