Scottish Premiership Preview: St Mirren v Aberdeen

There’s Scottish Premiership action in Paisley this evening as St Mirren host Aberdeen with both sides hungry for points to aid their top 6 push.

St Mirren have won their two matches in 2022 so far – seeing off Dundee United 2-1 last week before easing past Ayr United in the Scottish Cup at the weekend.

Aberdeen, meanwhile, have also enjoyed a solid start to the tear, drawing with Rangers at Pittodrie last week and overpowering League Two Edinburgh City in the Scottish Cup.

The Dons have tasted defeat just once across their last seven matches in all competitions, including four victories, and having seen off St Mirren 4-1 in the league last month, they’ll head south in confident mood.

This is a tight one to call, though, but goals should be on the agenda this evening – both teams have scored in five of the last six meetings between this pair while both teams have scored in four of the last seven St Mirren home league matches.

And with both teams to score tonight available at Evens with Betfair, that’s a price I’m happy to have a go at.

With goals expected, Lewis Ferguson looks overpriced to get on the scoresheet tonight, especially with him on penalty duty for Aberdeen.

The Dons midfield has bagged in his last three appearances, including against Rangers last week, and is 12/5 at Betfair to nab another one this evening.
