Scottish Premiership Preview: Tight Times

There are five matches in the Scottish Premiership this afternoon, and with just five points covering 4th to 10th in the league table, there’s plenty to play for.

Both meetings between @RangersFC and @AberdeenFC have ended in draws this season.

At Ibrox, Rangers can move level on points with Celtic with victory over Aberdeen, and the Dons head into out of form and with several injury concerns.

They’ve pushed Rangers close twice already this season, but this should be a straightforward win for the home side, and James Tavernier looks a big price at 5/2 with Betfair to get on the scoresheet this afternoon.

Third-placed Hearts head north to take on Dundee United, and the Jambos could offer some value at Evens with Betfair to return with three points.

United have struggled for consistency since Christmas while Hearts head into this on the back of two excellent 2-0 victories over Aberdeen and St Mirren.

United’s neighbours Dundee head to Fir Park to take on Motherwell and the Dees now look in a straight battle with St Johnstone for relegation.

Motherwell are odds-on for this despite not winning in the league in 2022, so they look far too short in the betting – the draw at 23/10 with Betfair seems a fair price for this clash.

In Dingwall, Ross County take on St Mirren, and there should be plenty of goalmouth action in this one.

Only Celtic and Rangers have scored more goals than County this season, and both teams to score has landed on St Mirren’s last eight visits to Dingwall – it’s 49/50 at Unibet to land once more.

And in the capital Hibs host St Johnstone and with a lengthy injury list for the home side, I’ve got a funny feeling Saints could get something from their visit to Easter Road.

St Johnstone on the Double Chance market are 9/10 with Unibet, and that’s a price I’m happy to have a nibble at.
